About Home Plan Customization

Legal Requirements: You must purchase a reproducible master if you plan to make changes to a house plan. With the purchase of a reproducible master you receive a copyright release which gives you the legal right to make whatever modifications you like.

Making Changes: Our designers make your house plan customization process simple, smooth and affordable. In general, a complete detailed customiziation estimate costs $50.00, this is due to the amount of time it takes to prepare our detailed estimates. However the $50.00 fee paid for the estimate will be credited towards the final cost of your plan customization, if you choose to have the modifications made. However, if you would rather take care of the customization yourself, you can simply order the reproducible master and have your own architect make the modifications.

    House Plan Customization Process:

    Note: Most plan modifications can be completed within 10 business days.

      Description
    Step 1: Request an estimate for the modifications using our secure online form. Most estimates will be completed in 3 business days.

    Step 2: Once you approve the estimate, the reproducible master of the plan must be purchased and shipped to one of our designers for modification. Our designers will be happy to place the order for you using the credit card information you supply them, in which case you will be charged overnight shipping. Overnight shipping is used to make the process simple and quick.
    Step 3: Our designers will require you to make a payment of 75% of the total modification cost. Once the payment is received our designers will then proceed with the changes.
    Step 4: Our designers will supply you with the preliminary sketches of the modified house plan. After you approve the preliminary sketches, the 25% balance due must be paid.
    Step 5: Our designers will then complete the working drawings for you and send you five completed sets of your modified house plan or a reproducible master of the modified house plan, which ever you prefer.
